1/16 R/C PzKpfw II Ausf F

Still need to do the electronics and the track tensioner (the idlers are sitting a little high in the photos) and may redo the tracks sometime as these look a little chunky.

1/16 KV-2 (Finished)

Here's my finished KV-2. Based on the Heng Long KV-1. It's not 100% accurate but I'm happy as I managed to build it over the course of four weekends.

1/16 KV-2 (Build)

Picked up a couple of KV-1's and decided to convert one into a KV2 (and I wanted a break from Panzer tracks). Managed to get to bulk of the parts designed and printed in a day-

1/16 PzKpfw II Ausf F (Build)

Almost finished my Pz I so I've been printing out the parts for my next project-

Thats the bulk of the printing done, just a few bits like the manlet, exhausts and tracks left to do.

1/16 M3 Grant Turret

Not a complete build but I  thought I'd share it here.

A couple of days ago someone on RCU asked for a Grant turret so I thought I'd have a go (I wanted one for my Lee anyway)

Anyway a few nights playing on the PC and a days printing this is the result.

1/16 scale M1897A4 75mm AT gun

Quick guide on how to assemble my M1897A4 on Shapeways-

Stage 1

Most of the parts don't need gluing  as they should move freely (a bit of sanding and drilling may be needed).
First you need to cut the spruce off-

1/16 Pz Kpfw I AusfB (build)

I know I said no more new projects until I finished some of the ones I've already started but I almost got a good deal on a Panther. That got me thinking, with a Panther I'd have all the German Panzers that went into production during WWII apart from two (PzI and Pz II).

I went away last weekend  (couldn't do any modelling) so armed with my laptop, George Bradford's "German Early War AFV's", a ruler and Google image search, I got to work on the first production Panzer. As this was going to be my first all printed tank it seemed a good idea to start on something small and easy. Over the last week in between printing parts for other people I managed to do this-

1/16 Sherman with a twist

I have been traveling a lot recently so haven't had much time for modelling. However I have had plenty of time researching and CAD modelling. Whilst looking up pictures for my M50 I came across this-

1/16 Willys Jeep

I've started work on a 1/16 Jeep.

I'm building it as a static model that can be converted to RC. Been away a lot so I've had plenty of time designing bits on the laptop but not much time for printing and building.

1/16 IDF M50 (Build)

I've been making parts for a couple of guys who are building IDF M50/51's. I thought these tanks are based on the HVSS Shermans and as I have no spare Tam hulls I didn't think about making one. But then I came across this pic-

M50 with VVSS. So with some of my test/waste parts I set about building my own IDF tank-

3D model from photos

Tonight I discovered a new bit of software "123D Catch" which converts photos into 3D models.

1st take lots of pics-

1/16 M4a1 (Build)

Been away from home a lot recently, so while I was away I started work on a small hatch cast hull M4a1. When I got home I started printing and after 23 hours of printing (over 3 days) I ended up with this-

1/16 Tiger 1

This is my first 1/16 tank (almost 10 years old). It's a heavily modified Heng Long, metal gears, wheels and tracks.  I beefed up the suspension to take the extra load. It was one of the early non S&S tanks with molded on tools. I tried to make it a kind of Berlin Tiger (ie. beat up and on its last legs.)

1/16 Pz IIIn

My Heng Long 1/16 Pz IIIn.

I did this some years ago, not based on any particular tank, just wanted a PzIII that was a bit different from the standared HL's.
